Home-made Stretch-mark Oil

(From one of my patients):

Ann's Tummy Oil

  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup apricot, almond or grapeseed oil
  • 32,000 IU – international units - (1.13 oz.) pure Vitamin E Oil
  • 2 tsp. grated beeswax
  • 1 tsp. lanolin 

The ingredients are all natural, can all be found in health food stores and sometimes even at Whole Foods Market. As to the beeswax, buy one beeswax candle and chop it up into little pieces.

All ingredients are melted together, cooled and stored in a clean glass jar (preferably dark glass) or a container that can be sealed. The product should be kept cool and away from bright lights.

The oil is rubbed onto the abdominal skin daily in a large quantity.

The recipe was provided to my patient from a Yale-trained midwife who she met while traveling in Costa Rica. My patient claims it helped her avoid stretch marks in 2 pregnancies and helped a friend of hers as well.
